Running Out of Time

Quick, quick, think of something
Anything is fine
Gotta think of words to write
Before my laptop dies.

Battery is running down
A warning light is on

Did you just rhyme ‘fine’ and ‘dies’???!! (I see you nodding complacently — nay, even smugly — but I shall continue my rant regardless.) That’s like the incline railway of slant rhymes!! Pardon me but I must avert my eyes from this veritable train wreck of a rhyme! *shudder* Of course, following your slant line of reasoning I am compelled to conclude that your screen is going to fade to blank or blue or bling. Nevertheless, and despite your slithery, slathery, slanty rhyme thing this poem is a, that is to say it’s an, in other words it’s —

Quick, quick, gotta think of something,
    Anything’ll work!
Gotta think of words to write,
    Before Sarah goes beserk!

For your next poem I will be delighted to loan you a pencil, the batteries of which rarely run down. 🙂

Thanks for an engaging poem that frequently rhymes correctly. 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • And THIS is why you call yourself Snarksmith! 🙂
And yes, I most certainly did rhyme “fine” and “dies.” Why wouldn’t I?? 🙂
